Summerfest donation

Dick Werner, of the Herreid Improvement Committee, presents David Schumacher of the Herreid Summerfest committee a $250 donation at this past week’s Thursday Night Bingo. The proceeds will be used to help support the activities of the 2nd annual Summerfest on July 6 in Herreid. Other Herreid Summerfest committee members pictured are Arnie Hanson, Holly Randall and Billy Mills.

The Pollock Men’s Club’s annual Walleye Fishing Tournament began Saturday, with the first flight of fishermen going out at 7 a.m. Whether or not they were successful was determined later in the afternoon, when they weighed in at the Pollock Community Center. Retirement celebrated

At a recent meeting, the Campbell County Ambulance crew celebrated Gary and Sandy Weismantel’s retirement from the ambulance crew. They have provided 23 years of service with the crew and to the residents of Campbell County.

The Mobridge-Pollock School Board accepted a resignation and agreed to purchase a new activity bus at their regular monthly meeting on Monday, June 10. Finishing touches are underway on Jeff Christman’s “Toychest Storage” in Pollock. There will be seven 12′ x 30′ units available and five mini 6’x 12′ units for smaller items. The building is located on the east edge of Pollock.
