Rosary on the Ipod started out the Thursday morning activities in the chapel. Several residents attended the religious service. Current Event and Let’s Exercise completed the morning activities in the designated areas. Thursday afternoon, the residents were invited to the chapel for the Protestant Church service. Thank you to Pastor Marlin Sapp for the service he provided for the residents to attend and enjoy and thank you to his wife, Carol, for accompanying on the piano to the selected religious hymns that were sung. Following the activity, everyone was treated to deviled eggs and crackers along with a choice of beverage.

Feeling Good Group started ou the Friday morning activities in the designated areas which the lady residents sure look forward to attending twice a week. Thank you to the activity staff for again pampering the ladies and making them look and feel so special. The dining room was the setting for the activity Beat That Game, a dice game, on Friday afternoon. There were several residents that attended and were patiently waiting their turn to shake and roll the dice. Pinwheels were served for lunch which were a hit. Thank you, residents, for coming out and joining in the fun.

Saturday morning, the activity staff shared the news from the Bismarck Tribune with the residents along with a variety of exercises. The residents all participated well in the exercises that were shared with them. The residents look forward to hearing the happenings for the day. Saturday afternoon, Ladder ball was the residents’ choice activity that was offered to the residents in the dining room. Some of the residents chose to attend the activity while others were content in their rooms. The top scorer was Benny Wald followed by Rebecca Bosch and Alvina Schell. Great job everyone. Lots of laughter and comments were shared among everyone that attended the activity. Warm cookies and a choice of beverage were served to all following the activity.

Sunday morning, there were a variety of religious service offered on the resident’s TV’s or in the activity room as they chose. The staff assisted the residents in finding the religious service they wished to watch before dinner. Throughout the day on Sunday, there were several family and friends visiting their loved ones which the residents sure enjoy seeing family and friends.

Monday morning, several residents attended the activity Current Events and Let’s Exercise in the designated areas. Thank to the activity staff for sharing the top stories of the Bismarck Tribune with the residents along with a variety of exercises before dinner. The dining room was the setting for the afternoon activity on Monday. The residents were all patiently waiting to get the activity started. The cash that was donated was in honor of Irene Biesheuvel from her family. Blackout winners were Victoria Schumacher and Goldie Madden. Thank you to those that assisted the residents at the activity. We sure do appreciate everyone’s help at the activities and making the residents feel special. Pickle dip on crackers were served for lunch following the activity. What a fun afternoon it was for the residents. They always look forward to playing Bingo and winning a cash prize.

Tuesday morning, rosary on the I-Pod was held and offered in the chapel to the residents if they chose to attend the religious service. Target kickball was held in the dining room on Tuesday afternoon. Several residents joined in the fun. Great participation and competition were held among the residents. For lunch, the residents were offered and served sweet breads and a choice of beverage. The top scorer was Arlene Kramer followed by Rebecca Bosch and Benny Wald.

Feeling Good group started out the Wednesday morning activities. The ladies were all excited to have their hair fixed by the activity staff. Flippo was the Wednesday afternoon activity in the dining room. When shouting out Flippo each resident received a cash prize. Draw card winners were Wilma Gross and Victoria Schumacher. For lunch, everyone was treated to delicious Rice Krispie bars and a choice of beverage. Thank you to the dietary department for preparing the delicious bars for to enjoy.

Thank you to the Country Tuff 4-H Group from Linton for the beautiful May baskets they made for each of our residents. Lots of smiles and comments were heard coming from our residents. Thank you for thinking about our residents at the Strasburg Care Center.

Happy Birthday to Don Weichel who turned 75 on May 9.
