Pollock All School Reunion postponed

The Pollock All School Reunion committee met Wednesday, May 6, to discuss the reunion that was planned for this summer.

Because of the unknown ongoing issues with COVID 19, a potential peak of the disease in South Dakota in late June as forecasted by the State and questions/ concerns from many Pollock School alumni, the committee decided to postpone the reunion for this year.

No date has been set at this time for a rescheduled reunion. The committee agreed to reevaluate conditions at the end of this year and make a decision at that time. If conditions allow, the reunion will be planned for 2021. If COVID is still a concern at that time it may not be held until 2022.

Those people who have already sent in their registration information and money will be contacted to discuss options. Choices will include leaving their registration money with the committee to be applied to the reunion, whenever it is held. The money will be returned to those who would like that option.

For those who had also requested T-shirts the same options will apply. The Tshirts will not be ordered for this year.

Reunion Chairperson Jennifer Van Beek has also created an improved Pollock All School Reunion page on provide a smoother way to communicate, as well as the options to update your address, name changes, and an option to join our email list.

The new page will help the committee to broadcast any announcements, schedule changes, and updates quickly, as well as lowering postage costs. The page can be found at fb.me/PHSAllSchoolReunion, or by searching @ PHSAllSchoolReunion on Facebook. Once on the page, you will find the communication options by clicking on the “send message” button and then clicking on the three bars at the bottom.

You can also get on our email list by sending an email to phsallschoolreunion@gmail.com and include your name and graduation year.

“No one on the committee was excited about making the decision to postpone,” Van Beek said. “However, given the uncertainty, we all agreed that it was absolutely the right decision to make. We hope everyone stays safe and healthy, and we look forward to seeing you when the reunion is rescheduled.”
