Mobridge-Pollock School approves ‘22-’23 budget

The Mobridge-Pollock School Boar held its annual budget hearing Monday, July 18, approving a $9,388,598 budget for the 2022-2023 school year.

Superintendent Dr. Tim Frederik told the board that although levies for county taxes were lower in ag, owner occupied and non-ag properties in Walworth County, there has been an increase in state aid to the school district. With the ESSER (Elementary and Secondary Emergency Relief) funds and other federal funding, there is an increase in the budget for the next school year.

Those funds will be used as salaries for teaching positions that help students prepare for life and education after high school graduation.

The board approved the budget as presented with no input from patrons of the district.
