MIDWEEK MESSAGE

As we read the Bible, we realize that mankind was not created to live separate from God. In (Genesis 1:26-27) we see that mankind was created in God’s image, and in (Colossians 1:6) that mankind was created by God and for God. So we see that we were created to have a close relationship with God. In creating the earth, knowing man like He does, God gave man everything he would need. Food (Genesis 2:9), water (Genesis 2:10), a job working in the garden (Genesis 2:15). Man also had an unhindered relationship with God seeing that he was pure, holy, sinless, and because of that, life was a lot different before Adam and Eve sinned.

After they sinned, man lost his moral and spiritual compass. For in just the very next generation, Cain killed his brother Abel. Then some years later it states in(Genesis 6:5) “The Lord saw how great man’s wickedness on earth had become and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time.” So God sent a flood to destroy mankind except for Noah and his family.

Later, God seeing that mankind was way off course and in uncharted territory, He sent His Son (John 3:16). While Jesus was on the earth, He performed many miracles and healings. When He taught, His teachings came from His Father in Heaven (John 7;16). Jesus, the Son of God, later did what He came here to do, which was to die on the cross shedding His blood to cleanse us of our sins. Because He did that, all we need to do is ask God to forgive us of our sins, and ask Christ to becomes our Savior and Lord. When we do that, Christ dwells in our hearts by faith (Ephesians 3:17) by the Spirit of God living in us (Romans 8:9).

So because of what Christ did on the cross, we can once again live our lives connected to God as we were intended to.We were never created to live without God. When we do, the result is lawlessness, rebellion, corruption, sin and a loss of our moral and spiritual compass. But being connected to God through Christ, gives us salvation and a purpose that only Christ can give.
