The regular meeting of the Jacob A. Heinrich Legion Auxiliary Post #170 was called to order on Thursday, March 12 by President Darlene Bates. Roll was called with 11 members present. A moment of silence was held in memory of our dead. The group recited the Pledge of Allegiance.

The Secretary Report was read. Sheila made a motion to approve the report with Mavis seconding the motion. The Treasurers Minutes were read and approved by Deloris with Carol seconding the motion.

Old Business:

In South Dakota our district, District IV, is 4th in the state for membership goal.

Spring District Meeting, Sat., April 18 in Akaska. There will be a 3:30 social with meeting at 4:30 and supper to follow.

Americanism Poems/Essays are completed and sent off. Participation was good.

Winners are as follows:

Grade 4, 1st place, Maydin Haar. 2nd place Katelyn Hall.

Grade 5, 1st place, Kendra Horner. 2nd place Eric Rueb.

Grade 6, 1st place, Jordyn Rossow. 2nd place Breanna Jochim.

Grade 7, 1st place,Addison Salverson. 2nd place Gracie Eberhart

Grade 8, 1st place, Sophia Ritter. 2nd place Jada Rossow.

Grade 9 and 10, 1st place, Darion Barker. 2nd place Paige Hall.

Grade 12, 1st place, Tetyanna Mills. 2nd place Ashlyn Vander Vorst.

Operation Pillowcase Project was worked on by Sheila Van Kuren and some of our youth members. There were about 55 pillow cases that were done.

Girls State in Vermillion June 1-6 with 4 junior members available.

Centennial Baby project is looking for baby girls for this.

Bankers Banquet was held January 21 at the Herreid Community Center.

The Traveling Vietnam Wall to be in Herreid Wednesday, June 24 to Monday, June 28.

Ruth motioned to adjourn the meeting.

The next meeting would be April 9, which is Easter week. The meeting was changed to the following Thursday, April 16.
