Heidi Olson ran to 11th place at the Heartland Preview on Saturday at Yankton Trail Park in Sioux Falls.
Olson ran the course in 18 minutes, 53 seconds. In a field of mostly Class AA runners, including race winner Ali Bainbridge of Sioux Falls Lincoln who ran 17:10.7, Olson was the second fastest Class A runner. Jade Ecoffey of Red Cloud finished 10th at 18:49.7. The next closest A runner was Ecoffey’s teammate Ashlan Blount who came in 14th.
There were 110 runners in the race.
Ipswich Invite
At the Ipswich Invite, held Saturday at Split Rock Country Club in Ipswich, Faith Heil earned her first top 10, coming in ninth at 20:42.69.
Both boys earned top 15 finishes. Remmington Ford to 12th at 18:35.81 and Logan Vetch took 14th at 18:44.47.
Alex Schumacher of Miller won the boys race while Dannika Kaup of Potter County won the girls race.
