CC Transit will resume operations July 1 with special requirements

Community Transit of Watertown/Sisseton, Inc. has resumed regular transportation services at all locations. This includes Campbell County Transit. Along with the qualifiers that are listed below, Campbell County Transit will have some additional regulations.

Because of social distancing requirements, there can only be four riders at a time. Individuals with medical needs will have top priority, followed by shopping, etc. If there are more than four people who want to travel, arrangements could possibly be made for a second trip.

CC Transit will resume operations starting on July 1. All riders NEED to call for reservations. They can contact James Kanable at (605) 955-3351 or Dan Schweigert at (605) 889-2824. Reservations will be on a first come, first serve basis.

The following are other qualifiers which apply to all Community Transit of Watertown/Sisseton, Inc. vehicles:

• All riders must wear a mask while riding in a CTWSI owned vehicle. If you do not have a mask, we will provide you with one.

• Passengers riding in a CTWSI van which is equipped with a protective barrier, may remove the mask when the vehicle is traveling, but it must be on anytime the vehicle is stopped and the passenger is being attended to by a driver.

• Transit Drivers will also wear a mask anytime a passenger is riding in a CTWSI vehicle.

• Dispatchers will continue to screen riders making reservations for medical appointments.

• We will not transport anyone to a medical facility for a COVID-19 related exam.

• If a passenger is determined to have a fever at the medical facility, we will refuse to transport he/she back home.

• Transit drivers will continue to clean the CTWSI vehicles at every opportunity. At the very least the vehicle will be cleaned at the end of each shift.

• Transit drivers will continue to practice good hygiene by washing hands frequently and using hand sanitizer as needed.

• Hand sanitizer dispensers and/or bottles are located in each vehicle.

• Transit employees will complete health check information sheets each day before beginning their shift. If an employee displays any of the symptoms, the employee will be sent home and further testing will be done if deemed necessary by a physician.

• Transit drivers will wear gloves when counting money from the fare boxes/containers.

• Our offices will continue to be off limits to walk-in customers at this time.

• Tokens can be purchased from the drivers in the CTWSI vehicles.

•We continue to provide out-of-town medical trips and Medicaid supported transportation.

•At the request of Tribal officials, CTWSI will continue to provide essential trips only to the areas served.
