
Poker Run planned for SaturdayThe 2nd Annual Ride for the Cure Poker Run will be held Saturday, Sept. 20. All proceeds from the event, which is sponsored by Slicks Bar & Grill, will benefit the American Cancer Societys Relay For Life. This years ride is dedicated to those who have lost their battle with cancer in the past year. All motorcycles and cars are welcome. Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. at Slicks, with the participants leaving at 12:15 p.m. The stops include The Sandbar in Pollock, The Pour House in Mobridge, Hogies in Glenham, The Den in Selby, Bernies Bar & Beefstro in Mound City, The Water Hole in Herreid, and then back to Slicks in Pollock. The entry fee is $10 per hand, with $5 going towards the American Cancer Society and $5 as payback for the winning poker hands. There will be a payback for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place high hands and the low hand. Door prizes, food and refreshments will be available at Slicks at the end of the ride. There will be a live auction starting at 8 p.m. at Slicks, and again all the proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society. Businesses and individuals have donated a variety of items for the auction, including Terry Redlin prints, breast cancer fleece blankets and Precious Moments and Harley Davidson items.
