And they’re off
Pollock Men’s Club member Allen Reierson fires his shotgun Sunday morning to signal the start for the second flight of boats during the second day of the 30th Annual Pollock Men’s Club Fishing Tournament. The weather conditions for the tournament were as near to perfect as one can ever experience on Lake Oahe. Temperatures were around 80° both days, and there was hardly a breeze, even though the weather forecast was for 10-15 mph winds out of the southeast on Sunday. The breeze was blowing just enough to cause the American Flag on the pontoon to unfurl.

30th Annual Pollock Men’s Club Tourney a huge success

“Just wait till you see them next year” was a parting comment by a fisherman in the 2007 Pollock Men’s Club Fishing Tourney. His prediction was right. Participants in the 30th Annual Pollock Men’s Club Fishing Tourney found abundant fish and great weather.

The teams set a record pace on Saturday, when they pulled in 1,106.91 lbs. of walleye. Only .81 of a pound separated the top five teams. The teams continued their record pace on Sunday, netting 1,122.59 lbs. The two day total of 2,229.50 lbs. was the largest catch for a tourney since they started weighing just six fish.
